Community Service
The Community Service Officer is a non-sworn position. The CSOs assist officers with:
* Ordinance enforcement
* Fingerprinting
* Traffic control
* Parking control
* Prisoner monitoring
* Animal control
* Vehicle lock outs
* Crime prevention & Neighborhood Watch Groups
* Other miscellaneous needs of the department.
CSO's often respond with officers to accident scenes and fire calls to help with traffic control around the scene. CSO's also assist citizens in dealing with stray animals and many other concerns. The CSO position is a good introduction to law enforcement work and many CSO's go on to become police officers.
