Please Put Numbers On Your House

VISIBLE HOUSE NUMBERS

Responding to emergencies quickly and efficiency is very important.  Due to past summer storms many residences are no longer displaying house numbers.  This is not only against city ordinance but also creates the potential for a longer police response time in the event of an emergency.  Please routinely inspect your house numbers and make sure they are securely placed on your home, are of a contrasting color and are visible from the street during any season.

House numbers ordinance:

It shall be the duty of the home owner, lessee or occupant of the home or business to post numbers in a manner that is visible from the street on which the property is located, numbers shale be at least 4 inches high with a minimum width if 1 ½ inches. Instances where there are more than one residence, each dwelling must provide separate house numbers. See ordinance 1220.02.
