Free CPR classes

Centennial Lakes Police Department is proud to offer CPR training to anyone in the Circle Pines, Lexington and Centerville area through the “Take Heart Anoka County” program. The course is a new approach to CPR. It is not a certification program. The class instructs the basics of providing CPR to adults and children, as well as covering information on choking emergencies and AED use. The class takes about an hour and a half and is provided at no cost. There is no test at the end of the class so there is not fear of failure. The class can be held at the Centennial Lakes Police Department, or arrangements can be made to hold the class at a location of your choosing. All that is required is a TV, DVD player and enough space for the class to work. Class sizes may be as small as 4 or as large as 15. To request a class contact Officer B.J. Stepan at 763-784-2501, or email at bstepan@clpdmn.com. Currently, it is estimated that 1 in 10 people know how to perform CPR. The goal of the program is to train 25% of the population of Anoka County in CPR.
