Catalytic Converter Program
The Centennial Lakes Police Department is excited to announce the partnering with the Minnesota Department of Commerce with the Catalytic Converter Program. The intent of the program is to deter the theft of catalytic converters by marking them with unique identification numbers that permanently mark the catalytic converter.
This program allows Centennial Lakes Police Department citizens (residents of Centerville, Circle Pines, or Lexington) to come to the Centennial Lakes Police Department to receive a free label that can be traced by law enforcement. If you have questions, please call the department at 763-784-2501.
Here are the steps to take to get a label for your vehicle.
- Research how many catalytic converters your vehicle has.
- Obtain your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and license plate number.
- Bring that information to the Centennial Lakes Police Department with your smartphone if you have one. If you don’t, there is a form you can fill out at the station.
- You will need to register your vehicle upon arrival, and you will be given your sticker and etching compound to apply at home or take to a mechanic.
